Deposit Lumberjack Festival

 

 

    Welcome to beautiful Deposit, home to so many historical and environmentally beautiful features.

 

    Deposit, located on the West Branch of the Delaware River, home to the best trout fishing in the world, was given its name because logs were “deposited” here in the river to be floated downstream to market. Home to great fishing; home to our bald eagles; foothills of the Catskills, Deposit is a beautiful place with pristine waters, many lakes and great recreational opportunities.

 

    One of our most popular recreational opportunity is the annual Lumberjack Festival, this year celebrating the 46th festival from July 15th 16th and 17th.

 

    The festival displays Deposit at its best—the Game of Logging competition; the Jack and Jill logging competition; many other events, including rides, vendors, fireworks, a parade, and the Rafts Races down the Delaware.  Lumber and the river have always been an integral part of life in Deposit and the Lumberjack Festival celebrates that.

   

Welcome back for a fun-filled summer in Deposit.  If this is your first visit—enjoy! Feel free to ask questions, directions of any of the local residents.  People are very friendly around here. Enjoy the scenery, the water, the festival, and please come back often for restful visits and a peaceful lifestyle.

 

    There are so many people who have helped make this year’s festival the success it is.  I want to thank this year’s board of directors and all the staff who have worked tirelessly for many months to make this year’s festival a reality.  I also want to express my appreciation to the Deposit Fire Department, Deposit Firemen, Inc., Deposit Emergency Squad, Deposit Police Dept., the Deposit Courier, and, of course our entire community for their support, encouragement and for their financial sponsorships of our many events.  Please support our local businesses and merchants. They are the heart of our community and need our support and patronage.
